For a company looking for a bank partner to help launch a financial product, it can be frustrating. It’s hard to tell what sponsor banks do and who offers what.

That’s because sponsor banks, in general, don’t do a great job marketing themselves and frequently, their websites don’t have a lot of information about their business services.

Chances are high that fintech providers with some type of middleware or APIs to help create financial products are also working with a sponsor bank.

The sponsor bank becomes an integral part of the modern financial ecosystem as various industries embed financial services into their own businesses vis banking-as-a-service.
